Dean R. Adams, MD, FACS

I am a board certified general and colorectal surgeon practicing in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. I specialize in minimally invasive bowel and hernia surgery and treatment of conditions of the colon rectum and anus.

My personal goal and mission is to provide patient centered care in the specialties of colorectal and general surgery. Each patient is unique and I endeavor to take the time to understand each patient’s problems and take a holistic approach tailored to each individual. Where appropriate, I take advantage of modern technology and state of the art techniques to enhance the quality of each patient’s healthcare and surgical encounter.

Biography

I grew up in northeastern Kentucky. I completed my undergraduate education at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. I received my MD degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 1992, trained in General Surgery at Providence Hospital in Southfield Michigan, and trained in colon and rectal surgery at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. I received Board Certification in General Surgery in 1998, and in Colon and Rectal Surgery in 2000. I have been in practice since 1999 offering care in the areas of colorectal and general surgery.
